Dr. S Radhakrishna Rao

Dr. S Radhakrishna Rao is an established Orthopaedic and Trauma surgeon with immense expertise in trauma and arthroplasty concerned with knee and hip region. He presently holds designation of Chief Operating Officer at Mamatha Hospital (Hyderabad) by way of which Dr. Rao provides management oversight to facilitate smooth and efficient operations of the hospital thereby promoting high quality medical services, patient safety and high patient satisfaction.

Dr. Rao carved himself a career in orthopaedics with the accomplishment of MBBS, D (Ortho), DNB (Ortho) and MCh (Ortho) qualifications. His prior association with St.Theresa’s General Hospital (Hyderabad), Apollo Hospital (Hyderabad), Whiston Hospital (Liverpool) and St Helen’s Hospital (Liverpool) provided him with a broad medical exposure in his speciality field.

Currently, Dr. Rao is responsible for independently running the orthopaedic department in the aforementioned multi speciality hospital. While doing so, he exudes immense proficiency in various orthopaedic procedures such as trauma surgeries, primary total joint replacement, basic paediatric orthopaedic surgeries, basic hand surgeries, basic & advanced spine surgeries, basic tumour surgeries as well as advanced arthroscopic surgeries. He updates the trauma team with discussions and clinical meetings while giving them lessons for handling emergency cases of trauma patients in ER. Over and above this, Dr. Rao upskills the nursing and OT staff in assisting various procedures and surgeries.

Dr. Rao is not only a skilled clinician but an effective teacher too. Previously, Dr. Rao served as a teaching faculty in the Department of Orthopaedics at MNR Medical College (Hyderabad) wherein he tutored undergraduates through his role as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Rao strongly believes in staying medically updated and realizes the given objective through active participation in workshops and conferences.

Dr. Rao, an active Lion's Club member, lends his hand towards philanthropic activities. He partakes in various community awareness programmes and free medical camps on a regular basis. To combat the pressures of a demanding schedule, Dr. Rao practises meditation and light exercise techniques. He also takes pleasure in leisure activities such as badminton, chess, photography and reading books.

In terms of character traits, Dr. Rao is a focused, ambitious and hardworking individual who never hesitates to seek help from his seniors with regards to advice and guidance. He maintains good communication and interpersonal skills. A good team player, Dr. Rao gets along well with people. He enjoys working and contributing in a team environment thereby gaining appreciation and respect from his peers.
